Welcome

Warmwell House is a Jacobean manor in the heart of Hardy’s Dorset. Perfect for weddings, receptions, family gatherings or private events, it is a unique historic venue full of hidden charm. Whether it’s cosying up in the Winter or enjoying the grounds in the Summer, Warmwell House is the perfect place to enjoy a special occasion in our wonderful county.

Meet your hostsSam & Serena

Sam and Serena moved to Warmwell House with their four children in 2014, when Sam was looking for a career change. He longed for more time at home, to restore the old manor that has been in the family since the 1940s and to start a business with Serena to make the most of the beautiful house.

Warmwell House is special for the family and it’s easy to see why. A lovely Jacobean building in a conservation village, it stands proudly at the end of a sweeping drive with far-reaching views across the hills towards the coast.

After three years of painstaking repairs and beautiful finishing touches, the house is now available as a venue for weddings and exclusive events whilst maintaining the charm of a much-loved family home.

The Estate & Jurassic Coast

The historic Warmwell Estate encompasses over 1000 acres of mixed livestock farm, ancient woodland and the conservation village – several characterful properties and a 13th century church. We are also privileged to have some rare SSSI heathland with Exmoor ponies and Shetland cattle, and will often be treated to glimpses of deer, hares, and plenty of interesting birds.

There is additional accommodation on the estate should you need it. The estate’s gatehouse – White’s cottage – and for the more adventurous, two luxurious shepherds’ huts. We encourage guests to make the most of the estate; taking in the breath-taking views, exploring the grounds, walking the scenic footpaths and losing yourself – quite literally! – in the Warmwell garden maze. Further afield (just a few miles) is the World Heritage Jurassic Coast with its spectacular cliffs and beaches. The coastline, which is perfect for a swim or a picnic, is part of the protected Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

'Wow! What a beautiful way to spend a week with swimming, croquet, gorgeous grounds, tennis, pool table and that is before the beautiful house itself. Everything a week with friends and family could offer. Thank you Warmwell House.'

Clare

'Our week at Warmwell House was not only the most amazing staycation but probably among the top vacations we’ve ever had. The house is immaculate and Sam and Serena were fantastic hosts, always available to help with queries, share some of the history of the house and provide recommendations for things to do nearby (admittedly we hardly left the house, between the pool, tennis court, pool table and walks around the grounds, why leave!?) The beds were incredibly comfy and the rooms and bathrooms all done to a very high standard. Compliments all round from our group of 12. We can’t wait to stay again next year!'

'We were invited to Warmwell House to celebrate a close friend’s 35th birthday. What a fantastic place it is, Sam and Serena were the perfect hosts attending to our every need, including the standout delicious breakfast to set us up for the day ahead, but not obtrusive in any way. The house has been tastefully renovated to the highest standard, with every little detail thought about to make for a very comfortable and relaxing weekend. With heartfelt thanks for an amazing stay. We cannot recommend it more highly.'

Edward

'What a lovely house! Everything has been done to a very high spec and so it feels like a five start hotel but with the intimacy of a family home and the exclusivity of a private party! The owners were on hand to offer local advice and help with any questions and we all had a thoroughly enjoyable weekend and I hope to come back!

'We stayed at Warmwell House for a long summer weekend, 13 adults and 3 children. From the moment we drove down the splendid driveway and were greeted by this stunning Jacobean manor, we knew we had found a true gem! Sam and Serena were incredibly helpful from beginning to end, offering us lots of tips on the local area, recommending caterers and answering all our queries very quickly. They were there to greet us and show us around the splendid house. Each bedroom is designed to 5 star standard and if all the other activities had not been there it would have been impossible to drag ourselves out of the unbelievably comfortable beds! The kids spent most of the time in the wonderful pool as the adults played tennis, drank delicious wine and lounged in the gardens – shaking off the London stress! I have never stayed at such a wonderful place and I hope that we will be able to return again and again to Warmwell House. Thank you again Sam and Serena for being the most gracious hosts.'

'Warmwell could not have been a more perfect venue for our wedding. The house, church and grounds are absolutely stunning - no photos could do it justice and our guests were blown away with just how beautiful it was. To be able to have everything from the Church ceremony, to the reception drinks and accommodation within walking distance made for a really relaxed and enjoyable weekend. Owners, Sam and Serena are the most lovely, accommodating and organised hosts. They ensured everything was absolutely perfect for us and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. Warmwell now holds a special place in our lives and we can't wait to come back and stay.'
